“In only 3 short hours Megan has totally transformed my daughters struggling relationship with her pony.
They are both very mareish and immature perhaps but both lily and star are now really enjoying schooling and their bond is well and truly building ❤️
To see the joy in my daughters face again is priceless”
“I’m in my fifties, I decided after all these years to do something I always wanted to do, to learn to ride a horse. I was introduced to Megan as my instructor. From the first day she brimmed with confidence, her riding experience and knowledge of horses shining through in her teaching methods. Thank you for your patience, your perseverance and for your lovely teaching manner and respect you gave me as someone who’d never ridden before. It was a pleasure I’ll never forget and a great memory in having you as my instructor and in helping me understand and appreciating these beautiful animals. Your the best! Paul X. 5/5”

“My daughter had her first lesson on new pony with Megan this morning and hasn’t stopped talking about it since! Megan is friendly and encouraging and Mia has come away feeling over the moon & looking forward to her next lesson! Thank you Megan!”
“Well where do I start on expressing how amazing Megan truly is…
My mare was very misunderstood so I called Megan for help.
She worked fantastically with my rescue mare and Katie was ever so fond of Megan’s gentle and understanding methods.
After the passing of my rescue mare, I was blessed with another lovely mare who needed some guidance again I reached out to Megan and she has completely transformed our partnership.
Megan is so patient and understanding of both horse and rider, she goes above and beyond to find methods and ways that suit both horse and rider.
During her schooling sessions she is honest and really cares for all her clients and there horses. I can’t recommend Megan highly enough!
She truly is a talented lady. Keep up the good work Megan.”
“Megan is an excellent horsewoman and trainer, she has always shown immense patience and insight working with my own horses and my foster horses through ERR. If you have a young horse to start or a horse with ridden issues then please consider Megan, she will only ever be a positive experience for them and give them a solid foundation to move forwards from. Keep up the great work Megan!”

“Having lessons for the first time in years and Chester and I really feeling the benefit of having a great coach.”
“She is very knowledgeable, has experience of riding in many different countries, approaches all horses and people with enthusiasm and patience and has a lovely bubbly personality which makes all lessons thoroughly enjoyable.”
“I’ve known Megan for two years and have had the pleasure of working alongside her riding and retraining a variety of horses, including youngsters and those with different issues. Both on the ground and in the saddle, Megan has a quiet, patient manner that horses really respond to and she is a very competent and effective rider whether schooling, hacking or jumping competitively. Megan has also given my children (ages six and eight) their first riding lessons and they loved her approach which is friendly and fun. They made great progress in a short space of time and were very enthusiastic about their coach! Megan is exceptionally reliable and trustworthy and I have no hesitation in highly recommending her, whether as a coach or a rider.”

Such a positive experience with Megan. She gave my daughter confidence and lots of very valuable advice. Megan has a great approach and her Sunny personality made it a joy to watch as she instructed rider and horse. She’s not a clock watcher and it was fabulous value for money. I’d definitively recommend and we will absolutely be booking Megan again soon. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“Megan has been schooling Zak and recently continued to do so whilst I was on holiday. Zak was a lot calmer and happier this year compared to last. I know this was down to Megan, she has so much patience and a gentle way with horses. I would highly recommend her and am looking forward to my next holiday without the stress of worrying about my boy. Thanks again Megan.”
“With my horse Jett being out of ridden work for over a year and me feeling overwhelmed and not knowing where to start, Megan came to my rescue! Her calm and confident approach rubbed off on Jett as after a short ground work session she was able to sit on and ride him in our very 1st session, in order to assess his pain levels and if he was ready to be started again and also to assess his reactions to a bitless bridle . She is so patient and encouraging and even helped me overcome confidence issues to have a sit on in our 2nd session. Although its still early days I now have hope for the future and can’t thank Megan enough!”
“I have an anxious highland pony and we were both lacking confidence. I was losing hope I’d ever enjoy her when Megan came along and saved the day. She has given us a real boost and allowed us to enjoy our partnership exploring where we were unable to venture alone before. Megan has a lovely calm manner, and is very patient. I’m also glad she sees the funny side of my very stubborn pony!”
“Highly recommend Megan for schooling and lessons. She has been schooling Bruce and getting great results.”
“Just want to say thank you to Megan for coming out and helping me understand the importance of ground work and bonding with my horse. I never thought he could be bored of his routine or that I wasn’t spending enough time with him. Horses need variety too! Remember to spend time just brushing and taking time to work on the ground as well as schooling them “
“Megan was incredible working with my yearling (welsh X) he had been a bit difficult teaching to lead and long lining. Megan just knew exactly what to do and now my yearling and I have an unbreakable bond! Thank you Megan 😃“
“Megan is excellent at what she does. . . . Megan used to teach my daughter and was amazing with her and all the other kids and horses, very patient with both riders and horses also has a very natural and gentle way when teaching and looking after the horses xx”
“Megan has been working with my boy Herbie for a few months now, he has gained so much experience and is able to deal with his fears and anxiety head on!
Megan has given him the tools and confidence to handle himself and helped me get back in the saddle because of this, I seen a massive difference in Herbie and can’t thank her enough for her time ❤️
Highly recommend Megan Simpson Equestrian, she takes time to get to know your special furry baby. She treats them with the utmost respect and tunes into their feelings/emotions which makes her a top notch teacher”
“Megan gave me and my pony magic our first lesson on Monday. It was fab from start to finish very basic exercises for me and magic to do that I would never have thought of doing. We are starting from scratch with us both and cannot wait to see the end result of lessons with Megan. She also explained why we did everything we were working on and explained how to do each exercise well. Highly recommend her for lesson and also horse massage!”
“Five full stars. Megan was patient and well mannered with my horse during his Shiatsu session. Clearly knows her stuff and left easy and clear instructions for me to carry on with between visits. Would highly recommend x”
“I met Megan two years ago when she came to help with my Haflinger, Georgie. Georgie had had a rough start in life and as a result she was nervous, and suffered from various issues such as separation anxieties to name but a few. The latter made riding Georgie extremely difficult, and her tendency to bolt was quite dangerous at times.
Megan came along and with her calm and reassuring approach to Georgie she slowly helped Georgie to learn to trust humans again. Megan is also studying Equine Shiatsu, and Georgie loved when it was time for her massage! The end result for Georgie was that with Megan’s help and input we were able to find Georgie a loving experienced rider called Alana who was able to continue the work that Megan started. Georgie now has a lovely forever home in a lovely part of Scotland. Without Megan I do not think that Georgie’s future would be so bright!
Megan is now my Riding Instructor.
Perhaps I should tell you a little about myself. I have come back to horses after a twenty five year break. In those twenty five years I have had a hip and knee replacement.
Megan for a young woman has a wonderful, positive and dynamic approach to horses and her clients. She is able to impart her knowledge and considerable riding skills to her students. Megan makes you belief in yourself and in your own ability to succeed, and she wholeheartedly wants you to succeed! Her patience and commitment to helping you to reach your goals is an inspiration to me!
One example, although there are many. Last week I was with Megan in a forest in Aberfoyle. I am hoping to canter on hacks. Megan who was on foot was finding safe areas for me to practice cantering. She would run ahead, and offer lots of instruction and support. I didn’t manage to canter on the first hill, I didn’t manage until the last hill! However, throughout that whole lesson Megan never gave up but was so patient offering lots of reassurance and encouragement! When I finally managed a few strides of canter we were ecstatic! Sharing the success together.
I have often read that a person needs to build a bond, and a partnership with their horse. I believe this to be very true, but I also believe that the same type of relationship must be formed with your Riding Instructor!
Megan is the type of instructor with whom you will be able to build such a relationship she is trustworthy, reliable, knowledgeable, skilful and friendly in her approach. In short she will help you to achieve your goals!”
